Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking an attentive Materials Assistant to support daily manufacturing operations in the Advanced Manufacturing department. This hourly, part-time role focuses on routine materials handling, inventory tracking, and recordkeeping to ensure availability for classes and production.

Responsibilities include receiving, sorting, labeling, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with shipping/receiving documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Comfortable performing routine and repetitive tasks.
• Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, email, and inventory systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and organize incoming materials and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory and materials records.
• Assist with preparing materials for classes and perform routine evaluation of inventory and course needs.
• Label and store materials in designated locations.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies or shortages.
• Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation.
• Maintain organized storage and work areas.
• Follow established safety, quality, and inventory procedures.
• Support materials management team with routine material requests and expectations.
• Other duties as assigned.
