Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency is seeking a warehouse/field disposition technician to receive, inspect, and determine the disposition of a wide variety of materials. The role involves expediting proper documentation, verifying demilitarization data, and ensuring safe handling and storage in a busy warehouse environment.

Applicants must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lb), operate forklifts, and comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

Experience handling materials in warehouse settings.
Ability to lift up to 50 lb and operate hand-truck or pallet jack.
Willingness to work in indoor warehouses with varying conditions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Receives, examines and determines the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials.
Reviews disposal turn-in documentation for accuracy (stock number, nomenclature, quantity, unit of issue, disposal authority code, DEMIL, condition code).
Visually inspects usable property and determines acceptability.
Determines condition and reportability and handling requirements (hazardous material, precious metals, security, DEMIL, etc.).
Verifies accuracy of demilitarization codes and maintains segregated storage of DEMIL items.
Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in documents for demilitarized items.
Performs special and periodic inventory; re-palletizes/re-locates as needed.
Operates forklifts and related equipment to move, load, and unload palletized materials.
