Qualifications

• Ability to do the work of a Materials Examiner and Identifier (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision.
• Lift up to 50 lb and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
• Commitment to safety standards and procedures in warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Receives, examines and determines the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials.
• Reviews disposal turn-in documents and ensures data matches (stock number, nomenclature, quantity, unit of issue, disposal authority code, DEMIL, condition code).
• Visually inspects usable property for condition and acceptability.
• Determines condition and reportability and special handling requirements (hazardous materials, DEMIL, etc.).
• Verifies accuracy of demilitarization codes and maintains segregated storage for DEMIL items.
• Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in documentation when demilitarized.
• Performs special and periodic inventory and relocates property as needed.
• Operates forklifts and related equipment to move, load, unload, and stack palletized materials.
