Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in Hanover, PA, is seeking a Materials I N to handle inbound and outbound materials in our manufacturing environment. You will work from lists and instructions, assist with receiving and shipping, issue materials to production, and help maintain accurate records while following safety practices.

The role requires basic education (GED/HS diploma) and experience with material handling; training on forklifts and cranes is provided.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required or equivalent experience.
• Experience in receiving, stores, issuing and shipping processes preferred.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work from manufacturing information, material lists, requisitions and instructions.
• Assist in receiving incoming materials and count/weight as required.
• Check delivery against bill of lading and packing slip.
• Obtain signatures and note short or damaged goods.
• Issue materials from stores to manufacturing locations as needed.
• Prepare materials for shipment.
• Load, unload, move, stack and band materials to pallets or crates.
• Maintain records for receiving, stores, issuing and shipping.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition.
• Follow safety rules and keep area neat and orderly.
• Provide suggestions for continuous improvement of operations.
• Operate equipment such as forklift, overhead crane, pallets, slings, racks, scales, etc.
