International Paper in Des Moines is seeking a Material Handler 2 to manage the flow of materials through the plant and perform daily forklift maintenance checks. You will load and unload trailers, monitor bale counts, and help keep production on schedule in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is at least 18, legally authorized to work in the United States, able to work any shift, fluent in English, and able to meet physical demands.

Responsabilités

• Handle and maintain the flow of materials throughout the plant
• Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR)
• Complete and submit load sheet to accurately record bale count, loading start/stop times for finished goods on outbound shipments
• Follow proper trailer loading and unloading lock-out/tag out procedure
• Assist with sorting, deboxing and moving pallets/materials on the plant floor
• Assist with removing finished bales and storing them in the proper location
• Load and unload trailers
• Complete PMs for all certified mobile equipment regularly
• Attend and participate in plant safety meetings
• Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns
• Adhere to plant policies and guidelines
• Other duties may be assigned
