Job summary

International Paper in Itasca, IL is seeking a Material Handler 2 to support the plant's material flow. The role requires operating forklift equipment, loading and unloading trailers, and performing pre-start inspections.

You will work in a full-time hourly role with shift flexibility, participate in safety meetings, and contribute to cost control and quality. Candidates must be 18+, authorized to work in the U.S., fluent in English, and able to meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Handle and maintain the flow of materials throughout the plant.
• Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR).
• Complete and submit load sheet to accurately record bale count, loading start/stop times for finished goods on outbound shipments.
• Follow proper trailer loading and unloading lock-out/tag out procedure.
• Assist with sorting, deboxing and moving pallets/materials on the plant floor.
• Assist with removing finished bales and storing them in the proper location.
• Load and unload trailers.
• Complete PMs for all certified mobile equipment regularly.
• Attend and participate in plant safety meetings.
• Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage.
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Adhere to plant policies and guidelines.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Pay Rate: $22.11 hour

Category/Shift: Hourly, Full-Time

Physical Location: 1225 West Bryn Mawr Avenue Itasca, IL

The Job You Will Perform

• Handle and maintain the flow of materials throughout the plant

• Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Forklift, Skid Steer, Electronic Pallet Jack, Hand Truck
