Job summary

Quanex in Winnebago, IL is seeking a Material Handler to move finished goods safely and efficiently. You will receive, stock, scan, and pull customer orders while adhering to SOPs and safety guidelines.

This role involves loading trucks, printing shipping documents, lifting up to 40 lbs, and using forklifts after certification. Strong reading and computer skills are required to track inventory and communicate across teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read and understand packaging layouts.
  • Good reading ability and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, stock, and pull finished goods for shipments.
  • Scan finished goods during receiving, stocking, moving, and shipping.
  • Record and print inventory activity information.
  • Enter and print shipping documentation.
  • Load trucks with packaged finished goods.
  • Assist with packaging finished goods as necessary.
  • Follow established SOPs and safety guidelines.

This position is part of a team responsible for moving finished goods around and out of the facility in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Receive and stock finished goods and pull customer orders.
  • Scan finished goods when received, stocked, moved, and shipped.
  • Record/print inventory activity information.
  • Enter and print shipping documentation.
  • Load trucks with packaged finished goods.
  • Assist with packaging finished goods, as necessary
  • Adhere to established standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.

Your Credentials:

  • A high school degree, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 8 hours, Monday – Friday, from 10:45 pm - 7:15 am.
  • Good reading ability, including the ability to read and understand packaging layouts.
  • Good computer proficiency with the ability to use a variety of systems.
  • Ability to be certified on and to operate forklifts.
  • Ability to perform the physical functions of the job, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
