U.S. Army Sustainment Command is seeking a Materials Handler / Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role includes maintaining storage areas, loading and unloading, and delivering items within the installation.

Responsibilities cover packaging, vehicle loading, and operating various general purpose motor vehicles. A pre-employment physical, background investigation, and forklift certification are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform the work of a Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator / Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision.
• Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, and safety procedures.
• Dexterity, safety awareness, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of materials handling, packing, and transport procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains warehousing related files and prepares various reports.
• Maintains warehouses, storage areas, and docks in a clean and orderly manner.
• Determines shape and size of package required to be custom built, including interior blocking, bracing, suspension strips, padded braces, and interlocking partitions.
• Delivers supplies or other items between the immediate organization, other activities on or off the the installation.
• Ensures that vehicle is not loaded beyond rated capacity.
• Operates general purpose motor vehicles, such as pick-up trucks, vans, stake trucks, or 4-ton van trucks to pick up or deliver supplies or equipment customers.
