Job summary

U.S. Army Sustainment Command at Fort Leonard Wood, MO seeks a Materials Handler to manage the full cycle of munitions from receipt to shipping. You will store, issue, and load munitions, ensuring proper segregation, safety, and compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities include operating light and heavy vehicles (1/2‑to‑5‑ton), inspecting cargo for damage, and maintaining accurate records. TDY up to 25% may be required; overtime and shift work are possible.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform the work without more than normal supervision.
• Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, and blueprints.

• Physical efforts: lift up to 70 lbs, occasional >70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of munitions materials handler duties: receipt, storage, issue and shipping of ammunition, components, powders, explosives, residue brass, and unserviceable stock.
• Issue munitions per requisitions, prioritizing older/smaller lots.
• Direct load/unload of trucks; maintain separation for safety and convenience.
• Store munitions following plans to meet distance, compatibility, and safety regulations.
• Check items for damage and initiate corrective actions to discrepancies.
• Operate 1/2‑to‑5‑ton vehicles to transport munitions to rail, airport, ranges, and storage sites.
