Material Handler

If you are a resourceful person interested in a challenging and rewarding career, consider joining U-Haul’s manufacturing team as a Material Handler / Forklift Driver. Our Team Members use their skills to support the manufacturing of trucks, trailers and support equipment for the largest do-it-yourself moving company in the world.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials received, stored and shipped through the manufacturing plant.
  2. Responsible for keeping workstations loaded with production materials.
  3. Required to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks).
  4. Cycle count parts and materials manually or using scales for inventory purposes.
  5. As parts and materials are moved in the facility, post their new locations in the SAP computer.
  6. Understand, support, and implement the company’s Housekeeping, Safety and Quality policies and procedures into daily work habits.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
  8. Wear and maintain protective clothing and equipment including safety glasses and steel toe safety shoes.
  9. Follow all safety practices during assembly and production operations and ensure work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.

Minimum Qualifications:(Please ensure that your resume highlights relevant work experience.)

  1. Must have experience with a sit-down forklift.
  2. Must have had a prior certification and be able to pass the company’s forklift certification process.
  3. Good computer skills are required.
  4. Must have the ability to write, speak and read in English.
  5. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  6. Regular attendance is essential.

Shift: 2nd 1PM-9PM

Full-Time | Excellent Benefits | $17

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires physical exertion such as extended periods indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
