MATERIALS HANDLER
The Materials Handler supports warehouse operations through receiving, inventory management, product assembly, and shipping activities. This role follows established distribution procedures to process orders efficiently and provide responsive internal customer service.
What You Will Do

Receiving & Inventory Management
- Receive incoming products following proper distribution procedures, including visual inspection and damage identification
- Apply correct labeling, verify product weight, and consolidate items in designated locations
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the computerized system
- Perform cycle counts and report discrepancies to management
- Process returned merchandise according to established procedures
Assembly & Kit Building
- Pull products for assembly area and shrink wrap items as needed
- Build kits using bill of materials to ensure proper product selection
- Assemble kits according to provided samples or established standards
- Audit version numbers on à la carte products to ensure lot consistency
- Inspect all products for defects and forward damaged items for disposal
- Label finished kits for easy identification and place in designated locations using FIFO method
Shipping & Order Fulfillment
- Pull, verify, pack, and process all domestic and international shipments
- Count, weigh, and examine package contents to ensure order accuracy
- Process orders through TanData shipping manifest system
- Handle "will call" orders in coordination with Sales and Accounting departments
- Complete required documentation including invoices, packing slips, and freight billsli>
- Verify shipping rates and classifications against rate charts
- Apply postage and process C.O.D. orders with proper verification
Equipment & Administrative Tasks
- Maintain warehouse equipment and report problems immediately to Lead or Materials Manager
- Perform clerical duties including typing, filing, and mailing
- Follow all safety protocols and distribution update procedures
Education And Experience
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year distribution experience in receiving, inventory, and shipping
- Experience with computerized warehouse systems
- Knowledge of DHL, FedEx, UPS, and USPS shipping processes
- Valid California Driver's License
