Job summary

Eos Energy Enterprises is seeking a Materials and Failure Analysis Engineer to own the incoming materials quality program and lead root-cause investigations into battery failures. The role sits at the intersection of materials, electrochemistry, mechanical/electrical engineering, and manufacturing quality.

You will work cross-functionally with supply chain, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and field service teams to protect product performance, safety, and customer trust.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in failure analysis, reliability engineering, or quality engineering, preferably in batteries or electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead RCFA on battery modules and systems from triage to corrective action.
• Design teardown, inspection, and testing protocols for failed units.
• Apply electrical, electrochemical, microscopy, spectroscopy, and thermal analysis to identify failure modes.
• Collaborate with R&D, suppliers, and manufacturing to close the loop on improvements.
• Maintain FMEA documentation for components and systems.
• Track failure trends and communicate findings via dashboards and reports.
• Support supplier quality investigations for component failures.
• Own incoming parts quality and inspection processes and CAPA activities.
• Contribute to safety investigations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Author detailed failure reports and present to stakeholders.
• Help build failure analysis lab capabilities and SOPs.
