Job summary

DFA/Kemps Dairy is seeking a Materials Expeditor to compile and maintain inventory and status information to expedite movements according to schedule and priorities. The role involves reading schedules, repacking to order, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure smooth flow.

Qualifications

  • Must pass pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; able to drive a box truck.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Read schedules and inventory reports to determine type and quantity required, availability of stock, and order priority.
  • Repack products based on order requirements.
  • Interact inter- and intra-departmentally to ensure workflow.
  • Document all information per SOPs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through continuous improvement mindset.
  • Report food safety/quality issues to management.
  • Vacation relief and scheduling flexibility as needed.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with regulations and GMPs.

Job description

Our DFA/Kemps Dairy has an immediate job opening for a Materials Expeditor to compile and maintain inventory and status information to expedite movement of materials according to schedule and
priorities.

JOB DUTIES

  • Read schedules and inventory reports to determine type and quantity required, availability of stock, and order priority
  • Repack products based on order requirements
  • Proactively interact and communicate inter and intra-departmentally to ensure consistent and efficient work flow
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Vacation Relief - provide relief when needed for various schedules
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all State and Federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

OUR MATERIAL EXPEDITORS MAKE:

  • $27.40 per hour

SCHEDULE: Mon. - Fri. 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Schedule may vary according to scheduling relief needs

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
  • Able to effectively work in a team environment
  • Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
  • Able to use company computer systems
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to follow directions
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to drive a box truck
