About the Position

Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Expediter ( Forklift Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties, including organizing storage areas to support efficient workflow, monitoring material requirements to eliminate delays and operating forklifts to transport materials safely. I can examine received parts to identify material defects. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort

Incumbent regularly handles weights up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. Heavy exertion is frequent. Constant kneeling, crouching, stooping and walking are required.

Working Conditions

Except for MHE operation, work is normally performed indoors. Inside typical shop and/or storage areas, fans and heaters moderate (but do not eliminate) seasonal extremes of temperature. In some instances, there may be no moderation at all. In operating MHE between buildings, operator is exposed to inclement weather and to hazards from other moving vehicles. Risk of shifting and/or falling loads is always present. Inside shop and storage areas, incumbent is regularly exposed to nose, dirt, fumes, and vibrations. Safety shoes and ear plugs are required. Some material which incumbent handles, stores, and disposes of are hazardous.
