Job summary

Precision Castparts in Portland, OR is seeking a Utility Aide to assist operators and skilled personnel by delivering, staging, moving, and storing materials, and by supporting equipment operation and cleaning as assigned.

You will learn basic department operations, work from technique cards when applicable, and contribute to safe, efficient production in a potentially hazards environment. Training is provided on the job.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions, read, writes and performs mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on technique cards.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide department/Operator assistance and learn operations to support productivity.
• Delivers, stages, moves and stores materials, equipment and parts.
• Fills, loads and unloads materials and equipment.
• Gathers materials and equipment for use by others as needed.
• Learns and performs basic department operations, possibly from technique cards.
• Cleans work areas, machines and equipment.
• Assists schedulers and expediters.
• May wear protective gear and work with hazardous materials.
• Works with more skilled personnel and follows safety rules.
• Safely operates all equipment and tools.
• Identifies and reports safety problems.
• Completes logs and records.
• Performs other tasks as directed.
