Job summary

Charter Steel is hiring for a May 2027 graduate into a Materials Engineering Rotational Program. You will rotate between departments, accelerating growth and development, with start in June 2027 and relocation support for Wisconsin or Ohio candidates.

The program seeks a Bachelor’s in Materials Engineering, internships or related experience, and strong communication, initiative, and analytical skills to drive improvements across plant operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Learn operations of the plant and how metallurgical theories apply to improve processes.
• Understand how process changes affect product performance.
• Collect and communicate product quality data.
• Perform root cause analysis of process-related defects.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving customer complaints with metallographic interpretations.
• Contribute to process improvements from quality parameter data analyses.
• Participate in Six Sigma, Orange Belt, and problem-solving teams.
• Answer inquiries from other departments and monitor production for issues.
