Job summary

Emerson in Marshalltown, IA invites students to join our materials engineering co-op. You will work independently to complete lab evaluations including liquid penetrant testing, welding monitoring, hardness testing, corrosion testing, metallography, and coating thickness analysis while documenting results for requestors.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering or closely related field.
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.
Junior or higher class standing.
Successful completion of introductory materials engineering coursework and Materials Characterization course.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

Work independently to complete assigned tasks, including lab evaluations and testing.
Document laboratory results and clearly convey findings to requestors.
Revise company standards and support Engineering Change Management processes.
Update project web pages as part of ongoing work.
