Charter Steel is seeking a new graduate for its Materials Engineering Rotational Program based in Ohio. The program rotates through Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, Processing Plant or Technical Services, with start in June 2027. Candidates should hold a B.S.

in Materials Engineering and show initiative and strong communication skills. The rotations will take place at Cleveland, OH or Fostoria, OH, offering exposure across operations and quality improvement projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering is required.
• Related internship or work experience is preferred.
• High initiative for excellence, results, and process improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn plant operations and how metallurgical theories improve processes.
• Understand how process changes affect product performance.
• Collect and communicate product quality data.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis of process defects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer complaints with failure analysis and metallography.
• Contribute to process improvements with data-driven analysis.
• Participate in Six Sigma, Orange Belt, and problem-solving teams.
• Answer inquiries and monitor production for issues.
• Conduct customer and internal tours as needed.
