HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Materials Engineer to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is responsible for evaluating materials, developing manufacturing processes, and advancing material applications to meet specialized design and performance specifications for mission-critical projects.

What You Will Do:
  • Evaluate materials to develop machinery and manufacturing processes for specialized applications.
  • Innovate new uses for existing materials, expanding capabilities across various industries.
  • Work with metals, composite materials, ceramics, glass, plastics, polymers, semiconductors, and naturally occurring materials, optimizing their performance.
  • Develop composite solutions that meet mechanical, electrical, and chemical requirements.
  • Assist in design and engineering efforts, ensuring materials meet operational and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and technical specialists to integrate advanced materials into production.
  • Apply standard practices and procedures while working under general supervision.
What We're Looking For:
  • 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with materials science, engineering concepts, and manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to work under general supervision, supporting engineering initiatives.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required; must be eligible to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with developing materials for defense-related applications.
  • Strong analytical skills in materials testing, evaluation, and optimization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
