Our client, a leading construction materials testing and consulting firm, is seeking a qualified Materials Engineer to join their established laboratory and field services team in **Upington, Northern Cape**. You will be responsible for planning and overseeing materials testing, interpreting results, and providing expert recommendations on material suitability and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise laboratory and field testing of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.

• Ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and project specifications.
• Conduct site investigations to assess material suitability and troubleshoot material-related issues.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) as a Pr. Eng. or Pr. Sci. Nat. is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction materials engineering and testing.
• Proven experience with laboratory testing procedures for soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong understanding of material properties, failure mechanisms, and quality control principles.
• Familiarity with relevant SANS standards and testing protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective client liaison.
• Ability to manage testing schedules and resources efficiently.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to undertake site visits in the **Northern Cape**.
