Job summary

Net2Source (N2S) seeks a Materials Engineer in Oshkosh, WI to support weld analysis, failure analysis, and materials evaluation. You will work with processing and testing labs, perform environmental testing, and contribute to new product qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of related experience in welding, failure analysis or materials evaluation.
  • CWI certification (renewal possible) or related welding/inspection experience.

  • Maintain and operate the Materials and Process Laboratory in good condition.

Job description

Join one of the top Heavy-duty Vehicle Manufacturing Company as a Materials Engineer to support weld analysis and failure analysis using Material Science evaluation.

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Duration: 12 months (Possible Contract to Hire)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm

  • Degree in Materials Science Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • CWI (Certified Weld Inspector) certification (able to renew if expired).
  • Industry experience in any of the following: Welding, casting, forging, metal heat treating, metal finishing, metal extrusion, metal foundry, steel/aluminum mill, failure analysis.
Role:

Materials Engineer provides support to Materials and Processing Engineering through failure analysis, material and process evaluations, environmental testing, and new product qualifications. Effectively communicate results in written and oral technical report form. Maintain and keep the Materials and Process Laboratory in good working condition.

YOUR IMPACT:
  • Failure Analysis, Materials Evaluation, Technical Oral and Written Reports, - reports to Sr. Principal Engineer.
  • Support supervisor and corporation through the execution of job assignments, consisting of the analysis and testing of various materials (metallic and non-metallic) and processes.
  • Communicate the results of analysis activity in both written and oral formats.
  • Utilize various materials and process engineering tools including digital camera, metallographic sample sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching equipment, light microscope, hardness testers, mechanical load frames, environmental exposure and corrosion chambers, scanning electron microscope with EDS and EBSD detectors.
  • Perform and understand material failure analysis activity.
  • Maintain and keep the Materials and Process Lab in good working order.
  • Operate within department's A2LA accredited ISO 17025 quality management system.
  • Interface with outside analysis labs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.

Experience or certifications in welding engineering or inspection, fabrication, or nondestructive testing.
