Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering
- Laboratory testing and hands-on lab experience
- Materials characterization and failure analysis
- Understanding of material properties and their relationship to product performance
- Ability to evaluate material interactions with the human body and surrounding environment
- Knowledge of materials-related regulations and standards, including RoHS, EU MDR, California Proposition 65, and ISO 10993
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and business teams
Nice to Have
- 2–10 years of relevant materials engineering experience
- Medical device or clinical industry exposure
- Polymer Science & Engineering background
- Master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering
- Experience with materials characterization techniques and product failure investigations
What You'll Do
- Conduct laboratory testing, materials characterization, and failure analysis to support product development and issue resolution.
- Analyze materials, processing methods, and material properties to support engineering design and product performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions and achieve business objectives.
- Review technical documentation and identify critical materials and engineering information.
- Support material specifications, processing requirements, quality requirements, and failure investigations.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations for process, material, and product improvements.
