Job summary

Adidas in Carlsbad, California, seeks a Manager of Materials Development to lead sourcing and commercialization of materials for the Golf Accessories range, including bags and gloves. You translate briefs into material requirements and manage testing, costing and production readiness.

You will partner with Design, Product Development & Sourcing, and external suppliers to ensure materials meet performance, cost and sustainability targets while complying with adidas standards.

Qualifications

• Strong materials development knowledge across textiles, synthetics, leathers, foams, coatings, trims or related soft-goods materials.
• Understanding of material testing, quality, color, costing, lead times and commercialization.
• Ability to read product briefs and translate design intent into measurable material requirements.
• Strong supplier communication, problem solving and project management.

Responsibilities

• Translate product and design briefs into clear material requirements for Accessories products.
• Identify, source, develop and commercialize textiles, synthetics, leathers, foams, trims and other materials.
• Manage material development from concept through testing, approval, costing and production readiness.
• Maintain accurate material specifications, supplier information, test results and system data.
• Ensure material deliverables meet seasonal calendar and product creation milestones.
