Job summary
Corning Incorporated seeks a materials-focused professional to lead development activities for Corning Optical Communications globally. You will apply polymer science to support new product development, assist with polymer compound selection for cables and connectors, and serve as a materials resource for engineers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's in material science, engineering or chemistry required (0-2 years).
- Masters degree is a plus (0-1 years).
- Experience with thermoplastic polymers / polymer compounds and product development or testing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research, propose experiments and analyze data to test hypotheses for new development efforts.
- Apply scientific/engineering understanding to research and development problems.
- Lead materials-focused development work for short and long-term R&D goals.
- Collaborate with research and manufacturing functions throughout product development cycle.
- Document results and communicate findings clearly.
