Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a highly organized Material Coordinator in Hammond, IN (Hybrid) to link customers, Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations. You will ensure refractory materials are available when and where needed and manage inventory, requisitions and shipments.

The role requires ERP proficiency, strong Excel skills, and experience in materials coordination within manufacturing environments. Join a global leader supporting steel and other industries.

Qualifications

• Experience in materials coordination or related field.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Advanced Excel and data management skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Proven problem-solving skills and multi-tasking under pressure.
• Experience with forecasting, invoicing, shipping coordination, and inventory control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate refractory material inventories to support steel manufacturing customers.
• Translate demand forecasts into material requirements and communicate needs to production.
• Monitor stock levels, consumption, and forecasts to minimize shortages and excess stock.
• Create and manage purchase requisitions, transfer orders, and replenishment requests.
• Maintain accurate ERP inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments with plants, warehouses, and logistics partners.
• Process shipment docs, customer invoices and monthly consignment reports.
• Communicate material status and delivery schedules to customers and internal teams.
