Job summary

Arhaus Upholstery in Conover, NC seeks a Buyer to ensure timely, cost-efficient procurement of fabrics, leather, trims, and components to support upholstery manufacturing. The role manages purchase orders, supplier communications, and inventory health to meet production schedules.

The Buyer identifies supply risks and coordinates recovery actions while collaborating with production, scheduling, and supplier partners for smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of purchasing, planning, inventory control, or supply chain experience.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for essential functions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in related field.
• Three+ years international supplier experience (preferred).
• Experience with supplier management, forecasting, inventory planning, and overseas logistics (preferred).
• Manufacturing or furniture industry experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own assigned commodities and maintain material availability, supplier communication, inventory health, and PO execution.
• Create and manage purchase orders for plant operations.
• Plan and purchase materials to support production schedules and forecasted demand.
• Procure fabric, leather, trims, and component kits based on demand forecasts and lead times.
• Coordinate with suppliers on order status, shipments, and delivery commitments.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery commitments to ensure material availability.
• Review demand forecasts and inventory levels to determine replenishment requirements.
• Identify and mitigate shortages and supply risks with proactive actions.
• Maintain open order reporting and supplier status reporting.
• Communicate delays, shortages, and risks to stakeholders and departments.
• Prepare bills of lading and other shipping documents.
• Support repair parts orders and office supply purchasing.
• Provide cross-functional support to purchasing, inventory, scheduling, production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
