Job summary

Sensidyne, founded in 1983, designs and manufactures air sampling pumps, calibrators, and gas detection technology. The Buyer will review, analyze, and purchase various commodities, maintain MRP data, and coordinate with engineering to resolve part issues, ensuring on-time delivery and accurate documentation.

The role requires strong Excel skills, analytical ability, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, contributing to cost savings and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and/or three to five years experience in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate and provide supply chain support to achieve cost savings objectives.
• Place approved purchase orders for basic and complex PCAs, PCBs, electronic components and materials in a timely manner.
• Outsource custom Sensidyne products, machined parts, and subcontracted PCAs to approved vendors.
• Ensure timely purchase, delivery, material flow and communication to satisfy inventory objectives and lead times.
• Review and generate POs to MRP requirements and ensure proper documentation for suppliers.

Job description

Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and purchasing of various commodities, including MRO and other production materials in compliance within company requirements. Maintains MRP part data, resolves and corrects variances, and keeps accurate purchasing documentation records. The Buyer also coordinates with other functional groups and suppliers in support of achieving committed ship dates and other company objectives. Must have the ability to handle multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines. Must have analytical skills and be advanced with Excel spreadsheets. Must be a highly motivated, high energy self starter, and able to work in a fast paced environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source, negotiate and provide supply chain support to assist in achieving cost savings objectives.
• Places approved purchase orders for basic and complex printed circuit assemblies, printed circuit boards, electronic components and other materials in a timely and complete fashion.
• Outsource Sensidyne custom products, machined parts, and subcontract printed circuit assemblies to approved vendors.
• Ensures timely purchase, delivery, material flow and communication from supplier to satisfy finished goods inventory objectives, customer requirements and product lead times.
• Reviews, analyzes and creates necessary purchase orders to MRP requirements. Ensures that complete and clear documentation is provided to suppliers as required and that purchase order terms and conditions are properly communicated to suppliers.
• Run reports or queries and analyzes as necessary or directed to determine appropriate actions to maintain proper stock levels in accordance with department guidelines.
• Inputs and maintains MRP part data essential for accurate buy reports.
• Participates and works closely with engineering on part issues on a pro-active basis.
• Features part obsolescence issues and follows through to ensure replacement parts are identified in a timely manner to minimize any impact on customer delivery.
• Monitors status of open purchase orders to ensure on time delivery, and expedites purchased parts on order before a delivery becomes delinquent. Reviews and reconciles purchase order material variances.
• Review ECO’s as directed, and oversees the incorporation and appropriate material disposition of affected parts.
• Visits suppliers, attends meetings and performs all other duties as assigned or directed.

• Thorough knowledge and experience of MRP systems and applications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with close deadlines and prioritize tasks
