Job summary

LG Electronics in Clarksville, TN seeks a Materials Assistant Manager to oversee material flow from supplier to production to customer and to optimize inventory and related costs.

You will lead ERP-related activities, drive on-time delivery, and supervise a team to meet budget and safety goals, while coordinating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
• 3–5 years of experience in materials planning.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Bilingual Korean/English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the material flow process.
• Establish and maintain supplier release procedures to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply.
• Monitor finished goods inventory levels to meet on-time customer releases while minimizing costs.
• Review performance metrics and drive corrective actions for adherence.
• Lead and develop subordinates for individual and team growth.
• Own material ordering, availability, and scheduling for 2–4 week inventory targets.
• Ensure inventory accuracy across systems.
• Reschedule materials for expediting or inventory control.
• Achieve daily, monthly, and annual team targets.
• Adhere to budget and execute plans to meet it.
• Coordinate with Innovation to forecast and reduce labor expense and escalations.
• Maintain safe working environment and compliance with safety programs.

Job description

The Materials Assistant Manager manages all material functions from the flow of materials, supplier through production to customer. The Materials Associate is responsible for minimum inventory investments, minimum transportation costs and efficient plant material operations. The Associate also directs and coordinates the application, implementation, and activities of the Company’s ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the material flow process.
• Establish and maintain supplier release procedure and supplier banking requirements to ensure an uninterrupted supply of raw materials to meet production requirements.
• Establish and monitor finished goods inventory levels to ensure on‑time compliance to customer release requirements while minimizing carrying and premium freight costs.
• Review department/plant measurables (customer delivery, supplier delivery, premium freight and inventory) and establish corrective measures for performance adherence.
• Provide leadership to subordinates for individual and group development.
• Overall ownership of material ordering, availability, and scheduling targeting 2 ~ 4 week inventory levels, at a minimum.
• Ensure systemic accuracy of inventory.
• Reschedule materials for pull ins (expedites) and push outs (for inventory control).
• Achieve daily, monthly and annual team targets.
• Adhere to yearly budget and carry out the plan to meet that budget.
• Align Innovation team to forecast and reduce labor expense, forecasts, tracks and escalates as necessary.
• Responsible for establishing and promoting a safe working environment and establishing and monitoring compliance activities to support the safety program.
