Job summary

Linde Advanced Material Technologies Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer to work closely with production teams, resolve manufacturing issues, and maintain production schedules.

You will apply your background in material science to improve product quality and safety, lead productivity efforts to boost yield, reduce waste, and develop and publish manufacturing instructions and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy or a relevant field with 0-3 years of experience.
  • Powder Metallurgy experience or interest highly preferred.
  • Plant Process knowledge or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous internship experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to solve problems through analytical processes with effective time management.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and maintain production schedules.
  • Identify and address product quality or safety issues using technical expertise.
  • Lead productivity efforts to improve yield and reduce waste.
  • Create, update, and publish manufacturing instructions and SOPs.
  • Partner with material coordinators and production leadership to ensure materials resourcing.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to resolve customer and production-related issues.

What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will work closely with the production teams to ensure manufacturing issues are resolved and production schedules are maintained
  • Also, you will utilize your expertise to identify and address any product quality or safety issues
  • Further you will engage with others to lead productivity efforts to improve efficiencies focused on product yield and reduction of waste
  • You will use your technical background to create, update and publish product manufacturing instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
  • In addition, you will partner with material coordinators and production leadership to ensure materials resourcing to prevent production interruptions
  • You will drive contingency actions by providing technical leadership and training to resolve both customer and production related issues
What Makes You Great
  • You will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Metallurgy or relevant field of study with 0-3 years of working knowledge
  • Powder Metallurgy experience and/or interest highly preferred
  • Plant Process knowledge or manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Previous internship experience strongly preferred
  • You possess the ability to problem solve through analytical processes and have effective time-management skills
  • You should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
