Job summary

SURVICE Engineering is seeking a Materials and Manufacturing Researcher to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career as an integral member of the defense community.

The role focuses on armor materials research for protection systems and advanced weapon concepts, with responsibilities across materials processing, multi-scale modeling, and collaboration with government partners. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a research environment (educational experience allowed).
• Experience in writing proposals, reports, technical program summaries, PowerPoint presentations, and journal publications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armor materials research for protection systems (manned/unmanned).
• Research materials and concepts for advanced weapon systems.
• Research materials and processing at small and high deformation rates/scales.
• Perform multi-scale advanced materials modeling.
• Recommend actions for Government research collaborations.
• Coordinate, prepare, and maintain lab supplies and equipment.
• Present research at technical meetings and conferences.
• Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts.

Materials and Manufacturing Researcher

• Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
• Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required
• Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 Depending on Experience and Education
• Travel: 5%

• Conduct armor materials research for protection systems, to include manned and unmanned systems as well as Soldier protection systems.
• Conduct materials and concepts research for advanced weapon systems.
• Conduct materials and processing research at small and high deformation rates/scales.
• Conduct multi-scale advanced materials modeling.
• Recommend courses of action for internal and external Government research collaborations.
• Coordinate, prepare, and maintain supplies, materials, and equipment for use at laboratories.
• Present research projects at technical meetings and conferences.
• Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts

Minimum Qualifications of Materials and Manufacturing Researcher

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Science related field and 5+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.
