Job summary

Oakwood Group, a family-owned automotive supplier since 1945, is seeking a Materials Analyst to strengthen supply chain performance at our Taylor, MI site. This role emphasizes ERP optimization, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive cost efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a business-related field; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
5+ years’ experience in scheduling, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain management within a Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive supplier environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems (IQMS preferred) and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

Responsibilities

Identify and resolve ERP issues tied to BOMs, scheduling, logistics, and reporting.
Lead process improvement initiatives across scheduling, customer service, logistics, and inventory.
Document and promote best practices, such as safety stock optimization.
Supporting vendor EDI implementation and other cross-functional initiatives.
Assisting with customer-driven projects such as program launches, balance-outs, and engineering changes.
Serving as a central point of communication between MP&L, engineering, operations, IT, finance, purchasing, customers, and suppliers.
Training team members and driving cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.
