Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Material Expediter to coordinate movement, staging, and prioritization of Army equipment during turn-ins at a contractor-managed site. You will ensure timely workflow between receiving, inspection, warehousing, and transportation while maintaining Army regulations and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience may substitute.
• 2–4 years of logistics, supply, or warehousing experience.
• Experience in equipment turn-in or material coordination desirable.
• U.S. Army regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.
• Army logistics systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP.
• Valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance; real ID; CAC; background check; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Expedite movement of vehicles, equipment, and parts from receiving to staging and warehousing.
• Monitor items needing immediate attention or special handling.
• Ensure equipment is staged for inspection, accountability, or outbound shipment.
• Verify turn-in documents match items processed.
• Track movement status in logs and Army systems; update records.
• Report discrepancies to supervisors.
• Collaborate with Supply Technicians, Warehouse Specialists, and Transportation Coordinators.
• Communicate with Army units to resolve delays during mass turn-ins.
• Support outbound shipping by staging, packaging, and preparing for loading.
• Assist reconciling shortages, overages, or mismatches in turn-ins.
• Participate in inventories and PARs; ensure proper tagging and condition coding.
• Ensure safe material handling with forklifts and MHE; adhere to safety standards.
