Job summary

EPIC Piping is seeking a Material Supervisor to help manage the flow of materials on site and integrate planning systems for accurate information and continuous improvement. You will work with Purchasing, QA, and Engineering to meet project needs and drive procurement and inventory control in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have 5+ years in materials management or project management, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a commitment to safety and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Materials Management/Project Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and JD Edwards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of team to ensure schedules and material control plans are integrated.
  • Manage inventory control, material availability, and short-term supply chain issues.
  • Assist in developing processes and procedures.
  • Support purchasing, QA and engineering in defining material requirements.
  • Provide analysis on inventory accuracy, targets, On Time and Full Shipping, waste minimization, and budget control.
  • Uphold safety standards and support SH&E policies; train staff as needed.

Position Summary

Overall objective of the Material Supervisor is to effectively assist in controlling the flow of materials through site and to integrate various planning and information systems, to provide accurate information, effective material control and continuous improvement in performance in order to meet the objectives and needs of Company and its clients.

  • Comply and ensure compliance with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
  • Coordinate the activities of those group under his/her control, with site and other support groups, to ensure schedules and material control plans are fully integrated within the project organization. This includes inventory management and control, the short day to day resolution of supply chain issues including resolution of material availability.
  • Assist in the development of relevant processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, QA and various Engineering Disciplines in procurement activities specifically relating to defining company's material requirements and in monitoring vendor performance in meeting these needs. This includes driving materials procurement, tracking and inventory planning through the plant purchasing group.
  • Provide analysis through accounting and inventory control group in areas of inventory accuracy, inventory levels against targets, On Time and Full Shipping, Minimization of Waste and Scrap, and budget control.
  • Maintains the highest safety standards for his/her areas of responsibility and acts as a role model in supporting the Safety, Health and Environmental policies and standards of Company and Clients.
  • Implement health and safety procedures.
  • Interview, hire and oversee training of staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager.
