Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Material Stocker to support manufacturing operations in North Carolina. You will store, issue, and move materials and products, requiring frequent lifting and safe handling practices. You’ll verify inventory accuracy and assist with line supply, using various handling equipment.

The role may involve assisting training, flexing into line work, and proposing improvements to workflows while maintaining a neat, safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Material Stocker stores, issues, and moves materials and products, including frequent lifting of boxes (3–45 lbs) from pallets (6 inches to chest level).
• Maintains and verifies actual inventory and materials being handled.
• Transports material through the plant and supplies parts for lines as needed.
• Operates material handling equipment to move material throughout the plant.
• May disassemble, sort, repair, and salvage products and plan daily line schedules.
• Lead cell in the team leader’s absence and identify improvement ideas in the work area.

Job description

• Material Stocker stores, issues, and moves a variety of materials and products, which includes frequent lifting of boxes (3-45 lbs) off pallets (6 inches off floor to chest level) and/or VGV’s.
• Maintains and verifies actual inventory and materials being handled.
• Supplies parts for a line(s) and transports material through the plant as needed.
• Operates a variety of material handling equipment to move material throughout the plant.
• May disassemble, sort, repair, and salvage a variety of products.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced.
• Assists in training other associates.
• Flexes into the line as needed.
• Accuracy of Inventory record and Quality of work is essential.
• Responsible for a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
• May plan and organize the execution of daily line schedule, including leading cell in team leader’s absence.
• Responsible for identifying and implementing improvement ideas in work area.

• Associates must not have been awarded a job through a posting in the previous six (6) months. (Exceptions to the 6-month time limit may be considered if circumstances beyond the control of the associate caused a shift change or demotion or based on business needs. In addition, associates seeking a higher labor grade may apply without waiting 6 months.)
• Associates can have no written disciplinary warnings within six (6) months of the posting date.
• Associates cannot have less than 17 UTO hours.
• Associates must be able to work 8+ hours per day and 40+ hours per week.
• Associates must meet all the minimum qualifications outlined on the job bid.
• Associates selected will receive the necessary training to perform the requirements of this position, to include processes and computer requirements.
• A 90-day probationary period applies to all job postings.
