Job summary

American Woodmark Corp. in Cumberland, MD is seeking a Material Stocker to support production by handling and stocking materials, reading pallet paperwork, and locating stock across the plant.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to lift up to 50 lb, work indoors in varying temperatures, and operate a pallet jack safely.

Qualifications

• Identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, and color variances.
• Identify and process damaged or flawed material in lieu of stocking it.
• Use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain familiarity with plant layout and stock locations
• Safely use a pallet jack in performing various tasks
• Enter plant receipt reports into computerized database
• Receive and stock materials in correct locations
• Identify all cabinet parts, components, and stock locations
• Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, and color variances
• Ability to identify and process damaged or flawed material in lieu of stocking it
• Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

Required Physical Ability:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 20lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lb

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures
• Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses and gloves
• The noise level is usually moderate to high
• Occasional overtime and weekend work as required
