Job Summary

Job Description

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Fuel Yard plant equipment. Performs lower skilled duties involving mechanical and electrical maintenance. Responsible for operating and maintaining conveyors, dewatering belts, and various other plant systems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate power plant fuel and ash handling equipment; may include warehouse duties.
• Monitor equipment gauges to assess condition.
• Perform electrical and mechanical duties as qualified.
• Use various tools including forklifts, electrical meters, hand tools, and power tools.
• Work in a physically demanding environment, outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Perform operational, electrical, mechanical duties; some overtime required.
• Training and functioning as a fire brigade member may be required.
• All work in compliance with Safety Handbook.
• Perform other duties as required.

Position details

• Represented by IBEW 2337; pay is $30.27/hour.
• Requires 12-hour rotating shifts.

Education, Experience & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Power plant skills and experience preferred.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills required.
• Ability to use hand tools and other equipment.
• Experience with mobile equipment like forklifts preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• All applicants (except current Fossil Generation employees) must pass the POSS/MASS exam.
