Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking a materials and inventory professional to support receipt, shipping, and cycle counts across multiple programs. You will collaborate with Operations on Kanban, Kitting, and CFP processes, and assist with excess/obsolete inventory dispositions.

The role requires hands-on experience with ERP systems and MS Office; knowledge of hazardous material shipping is a plus and you will participate in audit preparation as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; AAS in Business preferred.
• Experience in Aerospace and Defense or material management preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and shipping materials.
• Inventory, storage and cycle count experience required.
• Hazardous material shipping knowledge desirable (DOT CFR-49, IATA cert a plus).
• MS Word and Excel proficiency expected.
• Energetic, able to work independently, entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

• Support daily shipment receipt and distribution; ensure accurate, timely accounting for incoming inventory.
• Support weekly cycle count; manage count sheets; reconcile weekly reports and lead corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Operations to create and maintain Kanban for expendable, production and vendor managed items.
• Collaborate with Operations to manage the Kitting program.
• Assist dispositions of excess/obsolete inventory; support reconciliation, disposal and accounting.
• Support CFP program and supplier inventory; lead problem resolution and reporting.
• Back up hazardous material and inert product shipping duties.
• Assist with outside audit preparation and support.
• Troubleshoot inventory issues and reconciliations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Supports daily shipment receipt and distribution process. Leads problem resolution to ensure accurate, timely accounting for incoming supplier inventory.
• Support the weekly Cycle Count process. Run, distribute, manage count sheets, and reconcile weekly reports. Lead corrective action process. Report results weekly.
• Work with Operations teams to create & maintain expendable, production and vendor managed Kanbans.
• Works closely with Operations teams to manage Kitting program.
• Work with Operation and Program team members to complete dispositions of excess project inventory and participate in material close-out activity. Assist with reconciliation, disposal and accounting for Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
• Support Customer Furnished Property (CFP) program and supplier inventory process. Leads problem resolution and performs reporting.
• Back up for hazardous material and inert product Shipping.
• Outside audit preparation and support.
• Trouble shooting inventory issues and reconciliations.

Requirements

• High School diploma minimum. AAS Business or equivalent experience is a plus.
• Experience working in Aerospace and Defense is desired; preferably in a material management organization.
• Experience using ERP systems to logically move and physically ship materials.
• Inventory transactions, storage and cycle count experience required.
• Knowledge of hazardous material shipping and movement experience desired. DOT CFR-49 and IATA Certification is a plus.
• Experience in Microsoft Office products; especially Word and Excel.
• Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environment. Energetic and positive. Ability to work independently. Processes an entrepreneurial spirit.
