McCampbell Analytical, Inc. in Pittsburg, CA invites applications for a Materials Scientist Lead in our Solids laboratory. You will lead the Materials Science department, manage workflow and staff, and drive new instrumentation and methods.

Candidates should have deep experience with XRD, XRF, FTIR, ATR-FTIR, PLM, SEM, TEM and radiochemistry, hold a BSc or higher, and be prepared to grow the department within a 150-person lab.

Qualifications

• Must have intermediate to advanced level using XRD, XRF, FTIR, ATR-FTIR & PLM as applied to unknown identification.
• Experience with microplastics, respirable SiO2, particulates, and related analyses preferred.
• Minimum BSc required; higher degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain, and expand the Materials Science department.
• Manage workflow and staff, solve technical problems, and improve processes.
• Set up and expand instrumentation such as SEM and TEM, and grow client base.
