Job summary

Assurant, Inc. in Irving, TX is seeking a production training coordinator to work with Supervisors, assist in developing the team, monitor production performance, and ensure quality controls are met on the shop floor.

This role operates Friday - Sunday 6:00AM-6:30PM and requires hands-on leadership. You will participate in stand-up meetings, coordinate resources, track attendance, assist 6S audits, and collaborate with engineering and other departments to meet customer goals while communicating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a strong team player with good time management.
• Proficient in manual processing and receiving with UPH targets.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Prior leadership experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Supervisors to train and develop the team on the shop floor.
• Monitor production performance and KPI/SLA levels.
• Coordinate resources to meet customer goals and ensure workflow.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings and supplier meetings.
• Maintain attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes.
• Assist in 6S audits and implement audit-driven changes.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other departments as needed.
• Train and coach associates; complete daily reports.

Job description

This job is responsible for working with the Supervisors and assisting in training and developing the team, monitoring production performance, ensuring production and quality controls are met while adhering to the work instructions for the area of responsibility. This role is based at our Irving, TX location with a schedule of Friday - Sunday 6:00AM-6:30PM.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of shop floor systems (CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost)
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor
• Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings
• Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer goals
• Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved
• Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues
• Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues
• Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility
• Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes
• Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits
• Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
• Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and workstation assessment
• Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility
• Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and elevate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading
• Compile and analyze data
• Complete daily reports
• Train and coach associates as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of previous light manufacturing experience
• Proficient in manual processing and receiving, consistently meeting UPH expectations
• Strong team player who will thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills

Helpful skills or experience

• Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or another applicable environment is preferred.
• Database software- data entry software in existing programs
• Spreadsheet software- Microsoft Excel- basic understanding and data entry into a pre-formed spreadsheet
• Word processing- Microsoft Word- basic documents and reports

Pay Range: $17.34 - $27.75 Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
