Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Manhattan Beach, CA, is seeking an Associate Engineer Material Process or Engineer Material Process for the EEEE team within the SDS Division, supporting the Sentinel program. Travel 10%.

You will collaborate with design engineers to select and apply EEEE components, create specifications, and work with manufacturers and vendors to resolve qualification and test issues. This role includes procurement support and BOM review.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with one year of related experience; or a master’s degree with one year of related experience.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
  • Experience with the selection and application of EEEE components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • For Level2: two years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or one year with a master’s degree; experience in testing and qualification or applicable manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to provide innovative technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Collaborate with design engineers in the selection and application of Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical (EEEE) components, including microcircuits, connectors, passive devices and printed circuit boards.
  • Create component specifications or source‑control documents to meet program requirements.
  • Work with manufacturing and component vendors to resolve qualification, producibility and test issues with parts and circuit card assemblies.
  • Review bill‑of‑materials, new part approval requests and part attributes in a product lifecycle management system.
  • Support the supply chain with component procurement requirements, selection of suppliers and resolution of procurement issues and related processes.
  • Assist program subcontractors with EEEE part requirements interpretation and review of subcontractor data requirements lists (SDRLs).
