Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking a Material Planner to support production through material management, BOM updates, and cross-functional improvements. You will work to ensure timely purchasing, field support, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, drafting principles, and using AutoCAD 2025 along with other design tools. 20% field work in fabrication environments is expected, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drafting drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Able to multi-task and work independently or in a team.
• Must commute to the Houma, LA office location.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen; background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material take-offs from design drawings for estimating and procurement.
• Manage the material process and drive cross-functional improvements.
• Read and interpret blueprints and isometrics.
• Update BOMs and manage material changes and transfers.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to place POs in a timely manner.
• Provide on-site technical support through field visits.
• Support QHS&E program and safety initiatives.
