Job summary

Continental is seeking a detail-oriented Material Planner to join our Halstead, Kansas operations. You will manage material flow, coordinate with production schedulers, and optimize inventory to keep manufacturing running smoothly.

You will forecast demand, plan material requirements, work with Purchasing and Suppliers, and use ERP/MRP systems to generate planning reports. A solid background in supply chain and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of material planning or related supply chain experience.
• Experience with ERP and MRP software.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Knowledge of production processes and inventory management.
• Experience with demand forecasting.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to collaborate across departments.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review material requirements daily via the MRP system.
• Develop and maintain material plans based on demand and lead times.
• Support forecasting and budget by analyzing usage and inventory.
• Monitor availability and identify shortages or constraints.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams on dates.
• Process purchase requests with Purchasing for production materials.
• Coordinate with Production Scheduling on demand changes.
• Analyze inventory and demand trends to optimize requirements.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to track inventory and generate reports.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Investigate and resolve material shortages and discrepancies.
• Prepare reports on inventory, material needs, supplier performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Quality.
