Job summary

ABB in Mt. Juliet, TN is seeking an Inventory Planner to manage end-to-end inventory planning, from requisition to customer invoicing.

You will set inventory targets, define policies, and ensure timely replenishment through POs, while coordinating with operations and buyers to optimize supplier performance. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in Materials Planning or Sourcing, strong SAP expertise, and proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field with 2+ years relevant work experience in Materials Planning, Sourcing, and Logistics.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, specifically SAP.
• APICS / ISM or equal supply chain certifications.
• Demonstrated analytical skills, ability to deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Solid time management and organization skills.
• Clear communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI.
• Candidates already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

This position reports to:

Planning & Fulfillment Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory, including Sales in Excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Each day, you will support internal customer service inquiries. You will also showcase your skills by setting inventory parameters and targets and ensuring adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite

This role is contributing to the ABB Smart Power division at the Regional Distribution Center in Mt Juliet, TN.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Defining inventory policies based on specified segmentation.
• Calculating and maintaining the inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies, in the planning systems and the ERPs.
• Coordinating material planning with call-offs to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
• Collaborating with buyers to ensure the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity, quality, lead time, and flexibility.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree in Materials/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field with 2+ years relevant work experience in Materials Planning, Sourcing, and Logistics. Will consider an Associate's degree in Materials/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field with 7+ years relevant work experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of integrated ERP systems, specifically SAP.
• APICS / ISM or equal supply chain certifications.
• Demonstrated analytical skills, ability to deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Solid time management and organization skills.
• Clear communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel required, and Power BI proficiency.
• Candidates already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
