Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Material Coordinator for the Energy North West site in Richland, WA. You will coordinate procurement of materials and services, create requisitions, ensure SAP documentation, and liaise between project teams to meet schedules.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in nuclear construction procurement or project coordination, strong MS Office skills, and knowledge of nuclear codes and SAP. Some roles require SCMP accreditation; relocation not specified.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years in nuclear construction procurement or project coordination
  • Completed Materials and Operations Management program is a plus
  • SCMP Accreditation preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong planning, negotiation and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with Bruce Power/OPG catalogue ID requirements is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards related to procurement

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and consolidate material requisitions for nuclear and non-nuclear materials and services
  • Create purchase requisitions with complete documentation and project authorization
  • Ensure SAP requisitions include drawings, specs, client requirements
  • Coordinate between project team, engineering, and procurement for timely material purchases
  • Support subcontract packaging for Subcontracts Coordinator
  • Collaborate with procurement to develop reports and updates on materials delivery and costs
  • Monitor and expedite material deliveries to support project timelines
  • Manage receiving activities including inspection, inventory control and SAP goods receipt
  • Assist procurement with supplier recommendations
  • Provide material status updates to Materials Lead
  • Maintain responsiveness to operational needs while upholding quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Material Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the procurement of commodities, equipment, and services for the Energy North West site.

What You'll Do Here
  • Prepare and consolidate material requisitions for a wide range of Nuclear and Non-Nuclear materials and services, including but not limited to, structural steel, piping, valves, electrical components, civil materials, tooling, chemicals, calibrated equipment, lifting devices, and PPE
  • Create purchase requisitions with complete documentation, ensuring clarity in descriptions, quantities, quality assurance requirements, and special purchasing instructions, with appropriate project team authorization
  • Ensure SAP requisitions include all relevant drawings, technical specifications, and client specific requirements (e.g., CAT ID)
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the project team, engineering, and procurement to ensure timely and quality compliant material purchases aligned with project schedules
  • Support the project team in preparing subcontract packages for submission to the Subcontracts Coordinator
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team to develop reports and provide timely updates to the project team regarding material deliveries, associated delivery costs, and any expedite charges
  • Monitor and expedite material deliveries as needed to support project timelines and identify critical site deliverie
  • Manage receiving activities including inspection, inventory control, and SAP goods receipt processing
  • Assist procurement with supplier recommendations for materials or services
  • Provide material status updates to the Materials Lead
  • Ensure responsiveness to operational needs while maintaining quality and reliability standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
  • 2-5 years of experience in the nuclear construction industry in a procurement or project coordination role
  • Completion of a Materials and Operations Management program at the college or university level is an asset
  • Enrollment in or completion of SCMP Accreditation Program is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong planning, decision making, negotiation, and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skill
  • Familiarity with the Bruce Power and/or OPG catalogue ID requirements is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards as they relate to procurement activities, these may include but not be limited to: ASME Section III, ASME NCA-4000, ASME NQA- 1, CSA N285.0, & CSA N286-05, and CSA Z299 Series requirements
  • Basic knowledge of other material/component codes and standards is an asset (e.g., ASME Section II, ASTM, & CSA)
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
Hourly Range & Benefits
  • Houry Range: $60.00 an hour - $85.00 an hour
