Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Stocks clean linens on shelves, carts and delivers linens to appropriate hospital locations.
  • Maintains PAR levels of linen and notifies management if items are needed.
  • Conducts inventory of linens.
  • Washes rags, mops, cubicle drapes, specialty linens, and other assigned linens.
  • Creates soap‑free packs as directed.
  • Folds linens in an orderly and neat fashion.
  • Cleans and maintains linen work room and other linen storage areas.
  • Delivers and stocks specialty linen items such as scrubs.
  • Performs special projects as requested.
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests.

Job description

The Laundry and Linen Aide is responsible for receiving, delivering and maintaining all PAR levels in all locations throughout the hospital. They notify management when linen falls below PAR levels. All other laundry used for daily cleaning or other areas are washed, folded and returned to proper locations for the next day. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

Essential Functions And Duties
  • Receives clean linen orders and verifies linen counts from delivery company.
  • Stocks clean linens on shelves, carts and delivers linens to appropriate hospital locations, ensuring proper rotation.
  • Maintains PAR levels of linen and notifies management if items are needed.
  • Conducts inventory of linens.
  • Washes rags, mops, cubicle drapes, specialty linens, and other assigned linens.
  • Creates soap‑free packs as directed.
  • Folds linens in an orderly and neat fashion.
  • Cleans and maintains linen work room and other linen storage areas to ensure a neat and orderly environment.
  • Delivers and stocks specialty linen items such as scrubs to designated units.
  • Performs special projects as requested.
  • Backs up MS housekeeping when short staffed or busy.
  • Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.
  • Supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects.
  • Supports Value Improvement Practice (VIP‑Lean) principles of continuous improvement, functioning as a champion of change.
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests.
