Overview

Join an amazing Finance and Controlling team as a Material and Inventory Financial Analyst, where you will play a key role in inventory valuation, material cost control, and reliable financial reporting across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and plant leadership to connect shopfloor activity with business results.

You will support standard cost development, bill of materials analysis, inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, physical inventory activities, and month-end close. You will also help analyze material usage, purchase price variances, production inefficiencies, inventory aging, slow-moving stock, obsolescence reserves, and related inventory adjustments or write-offs.

This role offers a great opportunity to build a strong understanding of the production process and material flow. You will work closely with welcoming shopfloor teams, spend meaningful time on the production floor, and learn how operational activity is tracked, measured, and reflected financially. You will also help production teams strengthen their understanding of inventory movements, cost drivers, and financial impact.

You will review material purchase orders and requisitions to ensure proper coding, budget alignment, consistency with standard costs and BOM requirements, and accuracy of quantities, prices, cost centers, and supplier terms before approval.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive, collaborative environment focused on operational excellence, financial accuracy, and continuous improvement. Success in this role comes from strong analytical skills, financial discipline, curiosity, teamwork, and a genuine interest in partnering with Production and Supply Chain.

  • Review and approve material purchase orders and requisitions, validating quantities, prices, cost center coding, supplier terms, budget alignment, and BOM consistency.
  • Identify and resolve purchasing discrepancies prior to approval to ensure accurate procurement records and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for absorption, inventory adjustments, write-offs, cost center transfers, POPs, samples, and other plant accounting transactions.
  • Track, cost, and reconcile POPs and samples, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, cost center allocation, and accounting treatment.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report material wastage and overs, including variance investigation, trend analysis, root cause follow-up, journal entry accuracy, and recommendations to reduce material losses.
  • Support month-end close activities, including financial reporting, budget variance analysis, departmental expense review, and reconciliations for senior management and corporate reporting.
  • Track inventory aging, obsolescence reserves, and slow-moving stock, providing recommendations to reduce carrying costs and improve working capital.
  • Prepare and maintain KPI scorecards and business metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production to maintain updated BOM structures reflecting material, component, and process changes.
  • Prepare and upload take-off reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing inventory schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct monthly analytical reviews of material consumption and translate findings into operational and financial improvement actions.
