Job summary

PADNOS is seeking a hands-on Material Inspector to interact with customers while inspecting and grading materials delivered to our yard. The role involves operating light equipment to process and prepare materials for shipment, with a focus on safety and customer-friendly service outdoors.

The position is first shift with rotating 5-day weeks and offers on-site work, training, and advancement opportunities within a family-owned, multi-generational recycling leader.

Qualifications

• Six months' small equipment experience preferred.
• Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Accuracy in operation and attention to detail.
• Knowledge in inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Sort, process and inventory material (Non-Ferrous Metals) by operating shears, balers, loaders and forklifts.
• Assist with purchasing various grades of recyclable materials from customers.
• Support customers with the unloading of materials.
• Assist with preparing, packing, and loading materials for shipment.
• Sort and process materials in accordance with company standards.
• Operate equipment such as loaders, forklifts, or other machinery as needed.
• Assist with vehicle and appliance processing activities.
• Conduct basic inspections and documentation as required.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with material tracking.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Position Summary

The Material Inspector interacts with customers while inspecting and grading materials delivered to the yard. This role may operate small equipment to help process and prepare materials for shipment. We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused individual who enjoys working with people and providing a positive, face-to-face experience for customers and truck drivers. This position works primarily outdoors, and we are happy to train the right person on our equipment and recycling.

Schedule

• Monday - Saturday (5-Day: Rotating Schedule)
• 1st Shift (Mid-morning Start)
