Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Pontiac on a full-time basis.

The Role

In this exciting role, you will be part of a motivated team specializing in the safe and orderly handling, shipping, receiving, crating, uncrating, and preliminary testing of Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) or EV battery packs, supporting our RESS root cause team.

What You'll Do

  1. Ensure safe and efficient handling of high-voltage EV battery assemblies and related components, including shipping, receiving, storage, crating/uncrating, scheduling, and initial pre-checks.
  2. Perform physical duties involving moving large HV EV batteries, shipping, and disposal.
  3. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
  4. Maintain inventory accuracy and manage stock movements.
  5. Coordinate packaging, tracking, and shipment of root cause components to suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  6. Support the creation of Standard Operating Procedures to improve safety and efficiency.
  7. Participate in and sustain workplace organization practices.
  8. Provide logistical support to the Field Response Deployment Team.
  9. Collaborate closely with dock and RESS/module root cause teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in logistics, material handling, or material movement
  • Proficiency with office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and shipping/receiving software (e.g., EPICOR)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to operate powered mobile and lifting equipment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and EV Battery Environmental Classifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive or electrical technician experience
  • Experience handling HV components
  • Knowledge of high voltage battery systems and safe work practices
  • Certifications: forklift, crane and rigging, CFR49 Hazardous Material
  • Experience with high voltage battery handling, tracking, and quality checks
