Job summary

Stellantis in Detroit is seeking a Material Handling Supervisor to lead teams of hourly and bargaining employees in receiving and delivering materials that keep daily production on track. You will troubleshoot issues, allocate resources, and ensure throughput without disruption.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing practices and active participation in Stellantis Production Way initiatives, with focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Job description

The Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for leading teams of hourly, bargaining employees in completing material receiving and delivery activities that enable the plant to meet daily production targets. This role directly supports daily production, the Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for troubleshooting problems as they arise and allocating resources and manpower accordingly to resolve issues without impact to plant throughput performance. The Material Handling Supervisor participates in and promotes lean Stellantis Production Way activities.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
• Public Speaking Skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field
• 18 Months Experience in prior Manufacturing or Supervisory role
• Previous experience working in a union environment
• Ability to demonstrate lean manufacturing knowledge and application
