Job summary

Nordex Group in Iowa (West Branch) is seeking a Material Handling Operator to support shipping, receiving, and inventory management. You will handle loading, storage, and delivery of materials, while using SAP-like systems to track movements and ensure accuracy.

A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is evident throughout the role. The position requires a High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and at least one year in a warehouse setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel; familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Accept deliveries and position goods in the warehouse for access.
  • Supply production workstations with materials per the schedule.
  • Safely load trucks for shipping to the farm with correct quantities.
  • Manage collection/transfer of production and warehouse waste for disposal or recycling.
  • Record all material movements in the system to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Support monthly/annual financial results with inventory data.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Position Summary

The role of Material Handling Operator directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As a Material Handling Operator, you will be responsible for performing physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role involves lifting heavy items, maintaining the loading dock area, unpacking and verifying goods against purchase orders, and preparing shipments for final delivery. The Material Handling Operator also handles receiving, inventory management, and sales order shipments in SAP, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely processing of materials. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the overall efficiency and productivity of the warehouse operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Accept deliveries of components and ensure they are properly positioned in the warehouse for easy access and organization.
  • Supply production workstations with the required materials for assembly as per the production schedule.
  • Safely load trucks with materials for shipping to the farm, ensuring accurate quantities and proper handling.
  • Manage the collection and transfer of production and warehouse waste for proper disposal or recycling.
  • Record all material movements, including entries, exits, and losses, in the computer management system to maintain accurate and up-to-date stock information.
  • Collaborate with the financial department to support the preparation of monthly and annual financial results by providing inventory data and insights.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Have
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of warehouse experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for data entry, document creation, and basic data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to update inventory records, track material movements, and generate reports.
  • Strong command of the English language to communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and understand delivery notes, inventory reports, and other documentation in English.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records, track material transfers, and coordinate warehouse activities.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to manage personnel effectively, delegate tasks, and provide support to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Strong teamwork skills to foster a positive work environment and promote cooperation among warehouse staff.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
